While Hyannis Port Port is often considered the geographical anchor in the Kennedy story, Boston plays a pivotal and long-standing role in the story of the American Camelot.
Explore several of the sites significant to the lives of
Rose Kennedy, Senator Kennedy, JFK, and the rest of the
Kennedy clan. We'll start with a special viewing of the statue
of JFK in the State House courtyard, where in 1961 JFK
addressed the public before giving his inaugural address.
We'll visit the Omni Parker house, site of JFK's bachelor
party, and we'll point out the JFK Federal Building, where
Senator Kennedy, the "lion of the Senate"
, served the
people of the Commonwealth for decades.
We'll also visit the site of Rose Kennedy's birth, and discuss Ted Kennedy's role in securing funds for the Big Dig, and the subsequent creation of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway. Join us and discover the many ways in which the Kennedys' history will forever be a part of the fabric of the city.
