Our most popular event of the season! For 25 years, this walk has been the starting point for the perfect Halloween in Boston.
Walk over the dark side on All Hallows' Eve and there's no better place to do it than on Beacon Hill. Hear stories of ghosts, murders and mayhem that haunt this quiet neighborhood while walking among the Halloween decorations and the people who come to Beacon Hill every year to celebrate.
Mount Vernon once rose over this area of Louisburg Square on Beacon Hill. In Colonial Boston, this out of the way area was once known for the thriving industry here: Mt. Whoredom. Lt. Williams of the occupying British army noted in his journal:
“There's perhaps no town of its size could turn out more whores than this could.”
If you have never been to Beacon Hill on Halloween, this is one of those must-see events in Boston.
This Halloween event highlights Beacon Hill's rich heritage of mystery and suspense. See the home of the murdered George Parkman and learn what happened to his dismembered body. See where the Quakers were hanged and famous men buried, and many more scenes of the macabre.
Apparitions of lawyers and ministers, murderers who walk in their sleep, stranglers, and cautionary tales for lovers. Join one of our many docents on a journey through the true and morbid tales that haunt Beacon Hill this Halloween.
